Massage Therapy
The healing touch of therapeutic massage has been proven to be immensely beneficial to the human body by helping to heal
the muscular, skeletal, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic immune systems.
Massage is often used for pain relief, stress reduction, muscle fatigue, increasing circulation or athletic performance
enhancement. Whether used for a specific goal or not, massage therapy tends to increase the general health and well-being of the recipient.

Chris Rasmussen was working as a database developer when he decided that he needed a new direction in life. He started
massage school just a few months before getting laid off. This provided the perfect opportunity to focus all his efforts
on developing his love of massage therapy.
After graduating from the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in April, 2008, he began practicing in Rhode Island. He treated a wide
range of clients and began to develop his professional skills. Much of the clientele were athletes and martial artists, so deep tissue and
sports massage were the primary focus. In August of 2008, he relocated to Massachusetts and began training in specialized TMJD techniques
under April Laucis.
In addition to massage, Chris has an extensive background in Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qigong. He studied and was an instructor at Way of
the Dragon in East Providence, RI until his recent relocation. He has also become an avid student of Yoga and is certified in Reiki.
These practices inform his massage technique, body and energy awareness. |
