Teacher Training at Metrowest Yoga

Flow Yoga Teacher Training
with Shawn Shaw

Location: Metrowest Yoga Studio in Westboro


Wednesday's, 1:00-4:00pm (3hrs) Training is a total of 60 hours.

Session runs from October 24th 2007 thru March 26th 2008

(no classes on 11/21/07, 12/26/07, and 2/20/08)


Cost:  $900

Students will receive a 20% discount on scheduled classes.

Weekend Intensive Training on Alignment and Assisting

 November 9th and 10th

( cost separate $120)
Saturday 12:00pm - 4:00pm  Sunday 12:00pm - 4:00pm
(this training is mandatory if you want to guest teach and assist)


Note, a minimum of $300 is due at registration. The balance due at the start of the training.

Shawn Shaw Myoga Pre-requisite: At least 3 months strong Vinyasa/Flow practice. Bring an open mind and desire to learn, grow, and have fun!

The training is open to experienced Vinyasa/Flow students who may be interested in teaching in the future, current yoga teachers of any style, and teachers who want to deepen and fine tune their understanding and experience teaching Power Vinyasa/Flow Yoga. Through lecture, discussion, Q&A, demonstration, and hands-on experience, you will learn all the tools you will need to begin your journey teaching Vinyasa/Flow yoga. You will have a unique opportunity to practice teaching small groups and receive feedback from students and Shawn Shaw as well as giving and receiving feedback from training participants.

Teachers in training will also be given the opportunity to teach a "Community Class" and Assist Shawn Shaw in a class.

This course will include:

The Art of Teaching Vinyasa/Flow Yoga

  • Dance of Breath & Movement
  • Transitions & holding poses
  • Creativity in sequencing and variations
  • Timing for different levels
  • Use of music vs. silence

Alignment and Form of Asana

  •  Principals of Alignment
  • Safety vs. Freedom
  • "Seeing Bodies" clearly
  • Strength vs. Surrender

Shawn Shaw Myoga Giving and Receiving Feedback
