Core Workshop with Ray

Join Ray Mucci for a workshop that explores core body awakening and activation in a yoga practice.

Through group discussion, personalized feedback, and challenging flow this workshop will explore how to utilize core alignment and build functional strength to decrease and prevent back pain.

Most people know that having a strong core helps with back pain. In this workshop we will decode what this actually means in your body through proper alignment techniques and activation of underused muscles. Newer and seasoned yogis alike will benefit from exploring the habitual ways we move through the practice, some of which may be contributing to dysfunction or pain.

This workshop will start with a brief discussion covering an explanation of what the major core muscles are and what good alignment looks like and feels like. The concepts outlined in the beginning of class will then be explored through a vigorous yoga flow, ending with a challenging core strengthening series that can be done any time.

The skills taught combine knowledge from Ray’s 15 years of experience as a yoga instructor, 11 years working as an orthopedic massage therapist, and his personal experience understanding and healing his own low back pain.

*People with diagnosed back issues like disc herniation, stenosis, arthritis and others should be medically cleared by a doctor prior to attending this workshop. This workshop is not meant for anyone in an acute stage of back pain.
