Mindful Kids: A Yoga & Meditation Enrichment Series

Join us for a playful and supportive 3-week enrichment series designed to help children develop their focus, mind-body connection and coping skills they can use in everyday life.

Ages 4-7 & 8-11

Rooted in the holistic teachings of yoga, this series goes beyond movement to explore age-appropriate lessons in self-awareness, compassion and connection to their inner and outer world. Through guided movement, breathwork, meditation, storytelling, music and games, children will explore practical tools for navigating big feelings, strengthening their focus and building healthy relationships with themselves and others.

Yoga stories and themes will serve as a foundation for each session, offering meaningful lessons that children can understand, experience and apply in their daily lives. Through play, creativity and reflection, students will explore what it means to be fully present.

‍ ‍

Throughout the series, children will:

  • Build coordination and body awareness through playful yoga sequences

  • Learn breathing and mindfulness techniques to support focus and attention

  • Explore yoga-inspired stories and themes that encourage kindness and self-awareness

  • Practice skills for managing emotions and responding to life challenges

  • Identify and strengthen practices that will help them feel calm, grounded and connected

Our goal is to create a joyful and relaxing environment where children can move, play and explore while developing lifelong skills that support their overall wellbeing on and off the mat. We are thrilled to be offering this series and look forward to our time with the little yogis.

About the Instructors:

Mirvat  she/her 200 YTT

I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and have experienced firsthand the transformative power of connecting breath, body, and mind. As a mother of two grown children who were introduced to yoga from an early age, I have seen how this practice can nurture confidence, resilience, self-awareness, and joy throughout childhood and beyond.

My passion for working with children led me to serve as a teacher's aide at an elementary school in Palo Alto, California, where I collaborated with a yoga instructor to develop and lead a school-based yoga program offered weekly. Through this program, I helped children explore movement, mindfulness, and breathwork in an engaging, playful, and supportive environment.

In my children's yoga classes, I emphasize inclusion, creativity, teamwork, and connection. By incorporating games, partner activities, and group experiences, I encourage children to build friendships, develop self-confidence, and discover the many benefits of yoga while having fun.

I am excited to share my love of yoga with young students and help them cultivate healthy habits that support both their physical and emotional well-being.

Stephanie she/her  500 RYT// Cultivating Compassion through Meditation

I began practicing yoga when I was 10. At that age, it was the fun and playful postures that kept me coming back to the mat. As an adult, in addition to the movement, it has become a way of life that continues to ground and inspire me.

I have worked as a public and private school teacher both locally in the Metrowest area as well as internationally in Peru and Thailand. With a background in youth development and curriculum design, I am passionate about creating experiences for children that are engaging, student-centered and outline clear pathways for each child’s individual growth.
I believe mindful movement and social-emotional wellness can have a lasting impact on children’s overall wellbeing and I look forward to sharing this memorable experience with each student. My hope is the playful aspect of this series will connect them to a grounded and centered way of being.
