The shoulders are complex joints that require a thoughtful balance of strength, mobility, and stability to stay healthy. Developing awareness of shoulder and scapular positioning can support prevention of injury and longevity in your yoga practice and help reduce common tension at the base of the neck.
In this workshop, Ray will offer a clear overview of shoulder and shoulder blade anatomy and explore how optimal positioning shows up across a range of yoga poses. The session will include a guided flow designed to reinforce these concepts in an accessible, practical way.
Participants will also engage in simple assessments, targeted strength and stability work, andlearn tools for relieving shoulder and neck tension. Each attendee will leave with a handout outlining a weekly shoulder and scapular strength and stability routine to continue building resilience at home.
This workshop draws from Ray’s background in yoga, massage therapy, and training principles inspired by calisthenics, gymnastics, and other bodyweight movement practices.
